| We launched our new mouse bait box at PestTech to a lot of very positive comments.
We've taken our time developing this box and we've taken on board lots and lots of comments from users in order to learn from the weaknesses of existing boxes.
So here goes for the new Romax Mouse Bait Box:
"Please, not another key!"
OK, we do supply a key (the same one that opens our Romax Rat Bait Box) but it can be opened with any of the '2 prong push-type' keys that are already out there.
"Can you make it properly tamper-resistant?"
Done - you cannot force it open without a key. One of our customers who delights in opening bait boxes with only his hands in front of the manufacturers at exhibitions, had to give up (cursing) with this one!
"Can you make it so it fits nicely into corners?"
No problem. Its triangular shape means it lies nicely against a wall, but will also fit into a corner with the entrance holes in just the right position.
"Can you make sure that it takes all the main mouse blocks?"
Of course. They will all fit snugly in place and we've even got a bar for the ones with holes.
"Can you stop caulked bait rolling out when it dries?"
Yep. We've added a number of spikes that you can squeeze the bait around which will anchor it in place even when dry.
"What about pinning 'Tea Bag' sachets in place so they can't be dragged out?"
That's why we added a spike to the roof of the box.
"We sometimes need to be able to monitor for insects - can you make sure that you can fit an insect detector underneath it?"
Hmm - but that will mean having a separate insect detector. How about if we designed it so that you didn't need an additional, costly device, but you could simply add a glue pad inside the mouse box?
"But wouldn't mice get stuck on the glue pad as well?"
Not if you could separate the glue board from the mice with a simple, optional 'mezzanine floor' placed on top of the glue pad.
"Would it be easier to inspect?"
Of course. Instead of having to open a separate device, you simply lift out the 'mezzanine floor' from the mouse box and the glue pad comes out with it.
"Will this save me money?"
Oh yes.... A simple little 'mezzanine floor' is less than half the cost of a separate insect monitor.
"Can you do away with fiddly attractant tablets?"
Of course we can - tablets don't tend to be used anyway. The attractant, which is the proper AgriSense insect attractant not just a fruity smell, is incorporated into the glue.
"Will it be big enough to trap even the largest roach and leave enough room for a mouse to get inside as well?"
Yes - we've tested the system in the AgriSense labs and you can trap adult Oriental roaches and still have plenty of room above for a mouse to enter.
"Any chance of a smaller pack than the standard '100 pack' we usually need to get a present, which takes up so much room in the van?"
We've found a box which takes 24 mouse boxes which is much easier to carry. Will that do?
"Can we have whatever colour we want?"
...so long as its black. OK, OK - we've had a lot of requests for green, so we will certainly have that colour as well, but if you want another colour, it will depend on the numbers you want and whether other people want that colour too. Let us know what you're after.
"What about personalisation?"
There is a space on the lid to take labels where you could also have your own embossing if you wanted. Talk to us about the numbers involved.
"Well - that sounds very interesting, so just one last demand. Can we have it for nothing?"
Ahh... Well, we'll have to pass on that one - but we do realise that as there are already lots of mouse boxes in the market we will have to be competitive on price.
Certainly there will be significant savings to be made if you need both mouse baiting and insect monitoring capabilities.
As always, the price will also depend on the quantities needed and your personal requirements. Talk to us about your needs.
